I'm Brian, and I'm the Principal Consultant for Plan B: Research + Design. I've spent over a decade doing research and evaluation work for local, provincial, and national academic, non-profit, and health services clients.  

I have worked with an array of partners from a variety of disciplines, giving me a broad understanding of how different sectors function, and how systems intersect - for better and for worse. I have also spent time working in front-line service delivery, so I have a clue about what works and what doesn't when it comes to making impact for the people we serve.

I pride myself on doing work that has practical, real-world applications, aiming to demystify and simplify research so that what I produce for my clients is something they can actually use. 

My educational background includes master's degrees in sociology from the University of Calgary and in public health from the University of Victoria. I have published past works on gender, health, and equity. If one thread ties my diverse work together, it is a focus on finding solutions that improve the wellbeing of equity-deserving populations.
